The Poetry of Cancer
One of my favorite features in the Journal of the American Medical Association, it is not scientific research. It’s called “The poetry of medicine,”and he wrote of patients and doctors about their experiences.
Last week, I was surprised and touched to see a poem by Kyle Potvin, a longtime friend by myself, she learned the breast cancer during 2006. It is refreshing to hear others speak of death, because your own family and friends do not want to hear that kind of talk in the abstract itself.”
